Here’s the deal with drawing: It’s not my favorite. In fact, I strongly dislike drawing. Most people hear that and go, “How can you be an artist if you can’t draw?” Well, I can draw. I’m just not the best and it doesn’t make me the happiest. I realize that as an artist it is a requirement to have a basic understanding of drawing so that I can move on in the art world (because there is so much more). I don’t enjoy doing realistic images outside of photography which plays a part in why I dislike drawing. I do it to better myself as an artist in other fields in which I’m more interested. Therefore, I can draw and I will draw but I don’t display my work as a something I’m above and beyond proud of. Instead, I display my drawings to track my progress and show the amount of effort I am willing to put in because I love most other art forms. I display my drawings to show my commitment to and understanding of the basics.
